The Saluda County Cup is an annual charity golf tournament sponsored by the Saluda Lion's Club. This is a captain's choice tournament held at Persimmon Hill Golf Course. Proceeds from the tournament go to support South Carolina Lion's Club Charities such as Campaign Sight II, Leader Dog for the Blind, The Storm Eye Institute as well as local Saluda County Charities such as the R. B. Rogers Scholarship college fund and eyeglasses for local citizens. Last year's inaugural event brought in over $2700 for these charities. Winners of the tournament have their names engraved on the Saluda County Cup. The Cup is on permanent display at Persimmon Hill.

The Larry E. Gentry Memorial Golf Tournament is an annual event sponsored by Gentry's Poultry Company and the Gentry Family in memory of Larry E. Gentry, a former State Representative from Saluda County. This is a captain's choice tournament held at Persimmon Hill Golf Club. Proceeds from the tournament go toward the Larry E. Gentry Scholarship Fund. This annual scholarship is awarded to a deserving Saluda High School student to be used at a South Carolina college or university of the scholarship winner's choice. This scholarship has been awarded continuously since 1997. The Larry E. Gentry Memorial Golf Tournament has become one of the top events of its kind in the local area.
